“As a nurse, I had the privilege of working closely with people living with ostomies. They taught me so much about resilience, adaptability, and what daily life with a stoma really looks like.

Over time, I began to notice a common theme: bag changes were one of the most frustrating parts of the routine.

Not just the process itself, but the unexpected leaks that often came with it — messy and unpredictable.. For something that should be routine, it brought a lot of stress.

Even with access to medical supplies, I was shocked to see what people were being told to use: tampons, gauze, toilet paper — whatever they could find to stop the outflow during a change. There had to be something better.

So I set out to create it.

The idea for OstoPlug was shaped by conversations with ostomates, wound care nurses, and other healthcare professionals over nearly a decade. The first version wasn’t perfect — but the need was clear.

OstoPlug is the product I wish had always existed.

It’s designed to make bag changes cleaner, easier, and more hands-free — so you can focus on your care, not managing a mess.
