Meet the Founder

As a nurse, I had the privilege of working closely with people living with ostomies. When a family member of my own received one, I began to understand more deeply what daily life with a stoma really looks like.

Over time, I noticed a common theme: pouch changes were one of the most frustrating parts of the routine. Not just the process itself, but the unpredictability that can come with it. For something that should be routine, it often brought added stress.

Even with access to medical supplies, I was surprised to see what people were being told to use: gauze, toilet paper, paper towels, anything available to help manage output during a change. It felt like there should be a better solution.

So I set out to create one.

The idea for OstoPlug was shaped by conversations with ostomates, wound care nurses, and other healthcare professionals over nearly a decade. The first version wasn’t perfect, but the need was clear.

OstoPlug was designed to help manage output during pouch changes and support a more controlled, simplified experience. I created this to help bring a little more ease and confidence to the process.

You deserve nothing less.
